Assisted Service Counters
The term ‘assisted service’ covers a number of different types of serve over counter. This is traditionally a unit which contains heated, chilled or ambient temperature food. The counter is designed for use by both the customer and the server.
Assisted service is a type of dining experience where a person helps him or herself to food. This may be from a buffet-type counter, or he may be served by table staff at the same time as collecting extras from the counter.
Food displayed in servery counters can be placed within open or closed front units to keep food warm or chilled, or stored within trays in a bain marie style unit from which the diner can self-serve.
