What makes an effective grab and go display?

How a commercial catering establishment displays its food products is almost as important as the taste and choice of the products themselves. The quality and layout of your displays will directly correlate with the amount of sales, particularly when it comes to grab and go.

Grab and go displays need to be neatly set out and clearly labelled as a priority. Your grab and go customers are more often than not looking to make a choice and purchase quickly, usually on a lunch break or on their way into work, so it is important to make this purchase as easy and quick as possible for them.

Creating an attractive grab and go display can seem like a lot of hard work, but by giving some of Counterline’s expert tips a try, you can easily transform your grab and go offering!

Lighting

Using lighting, whether that is store lighting or light features on your grab-and-go display unit, is one of the most effective ways to highlight a product offering.

Meal deal magic

Have different foods or items that go well together? Perhaps you want to try and increase the sales of one particular product or you’re looking to sell more meal deals during the week. Pairing up items or even recommending different products that go well together can help to get your customers trying new things and make more purchases. Organise your displays so any good pairings can be stocked together or nearby. Making it as easy as possible for your customers to see what goes well together will encourage them to spend more.

Open displays

Giving your customers the chance to browse with ease and take a closer look at your products could be the push they need to buy. Having self-serve options for food or grab and go options, for example, gives the customer more freedom to make their own choice instead of dealing with an operator. They can shop at their own pace which can improve their shopping experience.

Signage and labelling

Your customers want an effortless, stress-free shopping experience, especially for grab-and-go. Signage and labelling will not only entice people to find out more, but will also give them all the information they need about a product, such as ingredients in their food, allergy information and pricing.
