“The Kitchen” is known for offering a variety of quality, wholesome fresh food at good prices, and Scotmid are continuing to provide this offering at their Leven Street store, Edinburgh.
The Leven Street store is recognised as Scotland’s first supermarket, with the addition of The Kitchen opening up a range of options for those looking for something a little different in their dining experience and variety of options available to them.
The Kitchen offers a range of foods for each meal of the day, including breakfast items, pre-made salad bowls alongside a wide selection of pastries, sandwiches and wraps, with collection and serving all meeting strict COVID-19 guidelines.
Counterline assisted Scotmid in creating a served hot drinks counter to provide a better customer experience, as well as assisting in Scotmid’s efforts to make half of their products suited for pick up and grab and go via self scan
As well as this, Counterline also listened to The Kitchen’s need of focusing more on meal occasions. Offerings were to change over the course of the day, including a full breakfast range, lunch and hot meals and snacks for the evening, including pizza, noodles and loaded fries.
Counterline supplied the Vision Aire range of matching heated, chilled and ambient display cabinets with the popular easy lift front option and stylish dual-purpose heated display cases. This allows The Kitchen to effortlessly swap and change what they offer throughout the day.
Scotmid chose Counterline’s units due to their flexibility, as well as the ability to cater for their wide offering and new concepts. They allow staff to move quickly from served to self-serve depending on what is on offer during the day whilst keeping products hot/cool and fresh.
The Kitchen at Leven St store is also working with local suppliers to bring cheesecake and donut products into their range to bring in customers looking for sweet options.
