Counterline supports Market X – a checkout free shopping concept from Levy UK + I
Market X is a brand new, technology-driven concept in the retail industry allowing customers to shop without the use of a bank card or cash. This ground-breaking technology eliminates the need for tills and cashiers; meaning the customer journey is both smoother and faster.

Introducing artificial intelligence into retail
Levy UK+I are part of the Compass Group and have partnered with global autonomous retail specialist AiFi to develop this exciting new “grab and go” convenience store concept.
Counterline has supported both their initial Flutter store project, launched in Flutter Entertainment’s HQ in Dublin in February 2022 and more recently at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium which went live in August.
Using 74 AI cameras placed strategically around the store, customers can simply tap in with their smartphone using the Time2Eat app, select their items and walk out.
This is not facial recognition, the system works by creating an anonymous avatar for each customer that can be tracked around the store, collecting the price data of the products they pick up, and then charging the customers’ previously chosen payment method once they have left.
