Causeway Hospital is an acute general hospital in Coleraine, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is managed by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust
The client wanted to introduce fresh, more appealing dining facility and café for its customers to feel comfortable and relaxed during their visits. Mr Robert Wright,( position / Catering and Domestic Manager) provide a detailed brief to Cater2 which was to deliver a High street style to service users that had been lacking in their social interactions due to COVID 19, and provide some respite from the rigours stress at work, supporting and contributing to staff health and well-being.
Mark Fry, Managing Director of Cater 2 commented. “We had to make sure the fit out was both practical but with real sense of warmth and attraction while staying in line with hospital regulations. To do this we had to truly understand the needs of the client.”
This project involved the supply and installation of a new servery counter and new café area within the hospital. The servery included heated and chilled drop in displays from Counter lines Manhattan range.
While designing and assessing customer flow, Cater2 decided to incorporate a combination of self-service and assisted service food displays. A mixture of refrigerated multi-level and dole well displays would support the freshly prepared sandwiches, salad bowls, drinks and indulgent deserts at regulated temperatures.
To deliver this project Cater 2 required the services of a reliable food Servery Equipment supplier who they could work with to meet the highest of standards for build and aesthetics along with equipment and that was reliable.
We worked with Cater 2 to support all aspects of the client’s vision. The Manhattan display range were chosen for their high quality finishes and robustness.
“Counterline use of 10 & 12mm thickness glass & UV bonded features where a key part of our proposal”. Their display equipment are real quality-built products. This is visible straight away and is an easy sell to operators with long term aspirations of a successful food service operation. Sharing the benefits of their efficiency and energy savings provides our clients with assurance Counterline equipment will provide many years of support to a successful operation.” Mark Fry, Cater2
2 years on from the project the client and distributor have nothing but kind words and positive feedback on the performance of the Counterline equipment and the difference it has made to the running of the various food outlets. We have since supported the Hospital with mobile hot & cold food stations which support various street food menus and events around the hospital.
