We’re proud to announce that Lewis McVeigh, a key member of the Counterline team, has been named BExA-GTR Young Exporter of the Year 2024—a national recognition celebrating outstanding young professionals making significant contributions to UK export success.
The award, now in its 18th year and jointly run by the British Exporters Association (BExA) and Global Trade Review (GTR), is open to individuals under 35 working in export-related roles across the UK. Lewis was recognised as a highly knowledgeable subject matter expert, praised for his hands-on work overseeing export finance, compliance, and regulatory processes—alongside his core commercial duties at Counterline.
“I’ve spent the last nine years building our export efforts from the ground up at Counterline,” Lewis said.
“To now see our work acknowledged at a national level and in the House of Commons, no less, is something I’ll always remember.
More than anything, this award is a tribute to our amazing team and the spirit of British manufacturing.”
This honour highlights not just Lewis’s personal achievements but the strength of Counterline’s international strategy. As an SME navigating an increasingly complex landscape of trade regulations, export controls, and market pressures, Lewis’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping our global success.
The judging panel commended his ability to manage complex day-to-day challenges while keeping a clear strategic vision—an essential skill in today’s fiercely competitive global marketplace.
