Food Safety Compliance with Counterline's iCapacity Range

Food Safety Compliance: Are you up to date?

30/06/2022Guy ParkerNews

For anyone and everyone in the commercial catering equipment or foodservice industry, food safety compliance is our number one priority. Food safety extends far beyond food preparation and transportation, the way the food is stored is a key part in ensuring it is safe for consumption. At Counterline we take great pride in staying updated with the latest in food safety laws and guidelines so that our customers don’t have to. With Counterline products, you can always be sure that your business is compliant.

Chilled Food Safety Compliance

Did you know that cold food must be kept at 8˚C or below in order to be safe for human consumption? This is a legal requirement in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

All Counterline equipment conforms to 3M1, a refrigeration performance standard which equipment must meet in order to be placed in a retail environment. The temperature in all areas of any Counterline display unit rests at -1 to +5 deg C with a high ambient temperature of 25 deg C, and 60% Relative Humidity, in line with UK health and safety regulations.

Our iCapacity chilled range offers retailers an ideal “grab and go” free-standing display fridge which can be used for both food and drink sales for products such as sandwiches, cakes or smoothies to name but a few. Whilst the iCapacity chilled range keeps chilled food and beverages fresh for consumption by the customer, there are also many benefits for the operator too.

Key benefits of the iCapacity design for the operator are:

  • Zero Emission Eco Friendly Hydrocarbon Refrigeration
  • Low Energy LED illuminated interior
  • Automatic condensate evaporator complete with ECO water level sensor.

For those looking for a countertop chilled display unit, our Vision Aire range offers both self-help and assisted service models and includes:

  • Illumination to all display levels.
  • Sliding double glazed rear doors.
  • Integral condensing unit with fan blown refrigeration system.
  • Automatic condensate evaporation

Hot Food Safety Compliance

Hot holding food temperature must be 65 deg C or above in suitable hot holding equipment like a bain-marie, or a hot food display counter to be safe for consumption.

At a time where energy costs are at record breaking levels, even more attention is being given to the running cost and the equipment’s full life cycle. Advancements in Counterline’s hot holding technology supports ever expanding food offers whilst always looking to reduce operational running costs.

With the reduced interaction and changes to the customer experience the pandemic brought with it, hot food holding provided a huge amount of food service operators with a food-to-go option as a life-line. Whilst at this stage a lot of those businesses now have an established second food service offer, benefitting both the business and its customers alike.

Counterline’s New Experience Hot Hold Counters give operators an aesthetically-pleasing, free-standing food merchandiser for all types of hot food for the “eating on-the-go” market. As travel has started up again and office workers return to their more regular patterns, this market is once again active.

Matching chilled and ambient food units allow a complete meal selection to be presented to your customers and our product-flattering canopy lighting system is built-in to each unit.

Where food is being served hot, the Integrale heated displays are ideal for integration into servery counter tops. We offer deli, ceramic hot plate and bain-marie versions to perfectly match your food offering.

If you are unsure what option is best for you, we would be happy to help and can quickly guide you through the benefits of our British manufactured, industry leading products.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like further information.
