Assisted Service Counters

The term ‘assisted service’ covers a number of different types of serve over counter. This is traditionally a unit which contains heated, chilled or ambient temperature food. The counter is designed for use by both the customer and the server.

Assisted service is a type of dining experience where a person helps him or herself to food. This may be from a buffet-type fast food display counter, or they may be served by table staff at the same time as collecting extras from the counter.

Servery food display counters can be placed within open or closed front units to keep food warm or chilled, or stored within trays in a bain marie style unit from which the diner can self-serve.

Counterline offer hot food display counters, and chilled assisted service style display units in the manhattan and vision aire ranges.

Assisted Service Counters

Where are assisted service counters used?

Assisted service counters are extremely versatile giving the customer the option to pick and choose what he or she would like to eat. They do not require constant supervision and keep serve-over food looking and tasting fresh.

These types of food display counter work well in environments like buffets or hotel restaurants. A choice of different types of food are available and a customer can create their own bespoke meal, but if they choose they can have part or all of a meal prepared and served to them as well.

This is also a particularly functional serving unit. Combining table service, for main hot meals prepared in the kitchen to order, with optional sides, desserts and drinks that the customer can collect themselves. This gives the server more freedom in their working day, and ensures the diner has everything they need available to them at all times.

Assisted Service Counters

How do assisted service counters work?

Counterline’s iDesign range has several options available for an assisted serving experience. Pre-heated food can be displayed in an open or closed fronted unit, and kept at a safe regulated temperature. In our Manhattan range there is also the possibility to display food in custom sized trays set into a bain marie style unit, or in a deli fridge style arrangement.

Chilled goods units work well as secure eye-level displays ready for the customer to choose from. This type of unit keeps food fresh but also gives you the versatility to display goods in whichever way looks best.

The open or closed front feature in many of our Vision Aire range ensures that food is stored safely and hygienically while allowing customers to handle, or select drinks and snacks on view. Counterline also offer a free standing ambient temperature food display featuring a front glass lift panel with hydraulic gas assisted hinges.
