Display Deli Counters

A display deli counter can be used to merchandise hot and cold delicatessen foods such as sandwiches, ready-to-eat pies and pasties, and other light snacks and lunchtime foods. Hot & cold serving counters are extremely versatile and can be used to display many different type of food and drink.

Hot food counter merchandisers can be fully enclosed, so that food is served by staff only, while heated self-serve merchandisers can allow customers to choose their own pies, pasties or hot sandwiches.

Meanwhile chilled deli displays can be enclosed for staff service, open-fronted with multiple self-serve shelves, or chilled well display units and chilled deli decks for salads, fruit, drinks and other snacks.

Where are deli counters used?

Commercial deli counter units are among the most versatile merchandiser units with applications in food service, food retail and self-serve environments.

A chilled deli counter may be used to serve packaged items like takeaway sandwiches and fresh fruit, as well as ready-to-eat delicatessen finger foods, cakes and buns, and cold drinks.

Deli counters can also be used to serve chilled deli ingredients, for example on a salad bar for consumption on-premises or to fill a salad bowl for takeaway food retail.

Heated deli counters and multi-shelf deli merchandiser units can be used to retail hot food items like pasties, sausage rolls and hot sandwiches, along with soups and hot drinks.

How do deli counters work?

A countertop deli counter typically contains a chilled well or flush chilled surface on which fresh foods can be presented, keeping them cool and preserved for longer while allowing customers to choose what they want.

Heated deli merchandisers can include open-fronted upright units with multiple heated racks, as well as enclosed deli stands, which have the benefits of only allowing access by employees and also retaining the heat within the enclosed space.

Temperatures are electronically controlled with drop-down fascias to disguise control panels and prevent tampering.

As a result of this, deli counters can be used in customer-facing areas, including for self-serve delicatessens, without the risk of temperature settings being deliberately or accidentally changed.
