Utilita Arena Birmingham has transformed its food and beverage offering with the introduction of six frictionless kiosks, powered by Amazon Just Walk Out technology. The development forms part of Levy UK’s partnership with the NEC Group, creating a faster and more convenient experience for visitors attending live events.

Working alongside RDA, which managed the design development and phased construction, the project brings together innovative retail technology and practical foodservice solutions. The new kiosks allow customers to enter, select their refreshments and leave without visiting a traditional checkout, with payment processed automatically. Delivered across three construction phases without the loss of any trading days, the project demonstrates how frictionless retail can improve customer flow and reduce queues in major entertainment venues.
