Having offered delicious, value for money bakes for over 70 years, Rowes Bakery are a household name across Cornwall and surrounding areas. They pride themselves on using Cornish vegetable and dairy produce wherever they can.
Along with meat that is sourced from quality-assured Red Tractor British farms.Traditional favourites sit alongside trend-led food innovations in all Rowes stores. Not only do they produce bakes for their own named stores, the Cornish bakery also has the facilities to supply to many major food businesses across the UK.
Today, Rowes have over 20 of their own bakery shops and two purpose-built production facilities – and now they are branching out into supermarket concessions.
It was our pleasure to work with Rowes for their new partnership with major UK food retailer, Tesco. With their huge variety of pastries and proven fast-selling favourites, this move will certainly benefit both parties.
For this large-scale roll-out, Counterline supplied Manhattan Hotplate units. The customer opted for the full glass version with a customised base unit and prep area to suit their needs. This particular Counterline food display unit is able to maintain pre-heated, cooked food at a regulated temperature – perfect for within a demanding supermarket environment. The hotplate style unit allows for Rowes baked goods to be eaten as food-to-go or taken home for later consumption.
The hotplate element of this unit is ceramic and fitted with individual gastronorm modules that are collectively controlled by a single electronic controller. This feature is user-friendly and easy to operate, again ideal for a busy supermarket concession counter. To give the operator maximum control over the display and storing of the food items, our quartz heat lights that highlight the product are also controlled electronically.
Rowes started their roll-out to Tesco stores across the country in September 2022 and will be installing around a counter a week for the rest of the year!
